Shenanigans, Shows and Slightly Questionable Decisions!

Welcome to 2026  the year our determination, motivation, and collective sanity all get a thorough stress test.

It’s an exciting one though. All those little ideas, the big ideas, and everything in between that made us giddy last year when they popped into our heads like tiny fireworks? They’re starting to become very real.

First up: the Cosmic website which you may (or may not) have already had a good nose around on by now.

It’s had a really sweet facelift! Our branding and visual identity are now much more in line with where Cosmic Workshop is heading, the content has been streamlined and cleaned up, and (hopefully) the information you’re looking for is much easier to find and read. Even better, the extra content I’ve been threatening to add since 2024 is finally starting to appear.

In line with our business plan, we’re now also offering tools and stock online, alongside our usual in-person sales at events. This side of things will grow and evolve as we learn what’s most in demand and gather feedback over the next few months.

You may notice that the shop isn’t quite as full as it once was. This is intentional. We’re shifting the focus towards ready-to-ship items and custom commissions. A smaller selection of previous pieces will still be available as made to order, and as always, if you can’t see exactly what you’re after, a quick message will usually sort things out.

Workshops are becoming more and more popular, which is honestly a joy to see. Alongside running them at events and being booked by specific groups and individuals, we’re also exploring potential locations in various cities to host bookable classes, especially for folks who can’t easily access us otherwise.

So, where will we be this year?
The Cosmic Calendar is now live on the website. If there’s an event you desperately want to chat to Jules at that isn’t listed, let her know. She’s planning a bit of spontaneous attendance this year — partly for business, partly to escape the workshop and have some fun, social times.

I am, however, questioning my life choices regarding what we are getting up to at some of these shows, I may have bitten off more than I can chew insert mild creative panic but it's fine, it will be fine, everything's fine! Yay me!

Of course, one of our biggest pieces of news this year is our Patreon.

Accessibility has always been incredibly important to us, and we’re hoping Patreon will help more people access our knowledge, content, and leathery shenanigans outside the usual channels. Funds raised through Patreon will go directly towards improving accessibility-friendly tools and equipment, both online and in our physical presence at events and workshops.

In other news… Jules is finally making a costume for herself. I know. Shocking.

OddTogs is dragging her introverted butt to the Fae Ball in Blackpool this April, so she’s decided to create a proper showpiece and spend a few hours being a charm bomb on the dancefloor.
(And by “dancefloor”, she mostly means leaning against the bar, looking pouty about being away from her library for more than an hour.)

If you’re heading there for fae fun, keep an eye out for the Forest Witch attempting to convince the bartender to brew her a nice mug of tea.
